QuMax 2000
QuMax-2000
MULTI-CHANNEL BASEBAND VIDEO/AUDIO
The QuMax-2000 is a video and audio quality monitoring device for High Definition and Standard Definition that automatically detects video and audio errors in real time.
With the capability to monitor up to 12 channels in one box, it’s easy to automate the monitoring of live video services from the control room; and now, use the QuMax-2000 to check Lip Sync along the broadcast chain at the same time! The QuMax-2000 extracts the essence of video and audio signals (“VideoDNA”), detects errors and compares quality. Errors such as video blackouts, freezes, audio mutes are detected automatically, in real time. Quality degradation such as compression strain and audio noise (including 2msec accuracy Lip Sync measurements) are detected by a double stimulus process which compares two signals to each other and alarms if there are differences. No special test signals or potentially harmful markers are needed or used; just any typical audio and video signal with scene changes and audio level changes is adequate. With the small size of the VideoDNA data, remote monitoring can easily be accomplished without the need for large bandwidth networks. Triggered alarms can also be sent via SNMP traps with different “threat” levels so that integration into user’s current systems is painless and allows for different correctional actions to take place based on the “threat” level. The QuMax-2000’s ability to monitor multiple points in a process and/or transmission chain makes it easy to identify exactly which piece of the user’s equipment is inducing the audio or video errors when they occur. QuMax-2000 is covered by Japanese and U.S. patents, issued and pending.
